The bottom of the hull has been painted black and varnished. I should now have no further need to turn the boat over so I can begin detailing the deck.

Here is the first glimpse of painted top section of the super structure. It’s still very much a work in progress so other angles are unpainted/unfinished. I’ve mainly been concentrating my efforts around the lift shaft. So far I’m very pleased with how the red is working, and also the bare metal decks.
This weekend I’ve spent a bit of time working around the back of the superstructure, preparing it for some detailing. The Ork Warship’s captain awaits his new ship! I’m not going to mess with him… I’m building as fast as I can! Anyway he was looking far less fearsome as an unpainted white metal mini, so I’ve given him a lick of paint.
Having spent most of the week painting the ship’s captain, I continued my painting phase with the Skull & Cross-bones I constructed to sit on top of the helm platform. As for the captain, he isn’t quite finished yet, but I’ll post a photo as soon as he is.
